Hi all me and a friend had an idea earlier last week about the club having a YouTube channel for anything from events to maintenance videos also it could help for putting them into posts as the link could be put into the post, another point we had was as the channel grew YouTube would start to pay the channel owner which in turn could benefit the club.
Let me know your guys opinion on this idea

I think it's a good idea, one I was going to make myself as well.....
I'm in the process of building a new website for the club and was going to suggest we make it more of a hub for information. I've just bought my first Delorean and every question I have, a google search sends me to another forum/group. It'd be nice if we could make the DOC jump up the search rankings

I could make the channel and run it and everyone sends me the vids to upload as I have run my own channels before so I have knowledge of how YouTube's system runs also with the new site it could be displayed as a way of people to visualize certain things (repairs, etc.) Also when we go to big events like the nec it could be vlogged (our stand and others).

That sounds like a superb idea, if it could be combined with the hard work Michael is doing behind the scenes then that would be great.

I can set up the channel tonight and post the link to it on here so that its ready for the refurbished website
Alright everyone the channel is now created only has a temporary set up as I would need photos to style it more like a better image of the logo and a cool theme. Also I will do more tinkering with the set up of it but for now here is the link

Hi everyone the channel has been given a new look but I could do with having some photos to choose from for the channel's background also to help get the channel off the ground for subscribers could we post the link to it on our Facebook page?

Sounds like a fab idea. My only 'worry' about posting techie stuff, is the age old problem of public liability
if someone tries to copy a 'how to' video, it goes tits up and the person tries to sue the Club.
Anyway of working round this?
What sort of photos do you need William? I can supply literally hundreds of pictures from the last 18yrs if need be lol

The only thing I can think of for people following some videos is that before uploading them I add a watermark which stops others from "stealing" the videos, but for people to follow we try and put in as much information as possible and a visual representation of whats being done
As for photos Claire some similar to the eurofest 2016 that ive used for the background for now
Or Claire I could create a collage using some photos old & new and see which looks better

Ok William, what I'll do is put everything I have in the way of DOC-UK shows on a CD/DVD (they are all in albums) and send them to you with your calendar

Awesome. My CSS isn't playing nicely, so I'll have another look at it this weekend and see where we get.

Disclaimer at the start of the video? Something like... "DOC is not responsible for any problems/issues/injuries encountered by following the instructions this video. You do so at your own risk. If in doubt you should always seek help from a professional"
