It looks different yet again….I've got good ones from a Peugeot and from a Volvo waiting 'in stock' …in case I ever need one…but we all know they are pretty bullet proof, if not abused (or turbo-charged) or over-heated………. In my experience anyway.

Very varied, I dont have a full list (Martin G may know better) but any V6 in Volvo/Renault/peugeot from very early to late 80's may be correct, usually if it looks correct it (or part of it) is correct. Some have carb's on (pugs) later ones like this one are even fire.

That's a 2975cc out of a safrane. I didn't know they were sold as manuals in the UK. Almost entirely useless for parts to fix DeLorean engines. No internals are common, including the block.

190bhp.. so, unless it was an easy swap (is there such a thing?!) it's probably of no use. Tempting for pennies though.

It doesn't say it came with a manual, just that it has one now. Could be from anything (that'll fit) Tongue

I wonder if it would fit to a Delorean type gearbox? At that price it would be an interesting idea!

Safrane engines are 165hp, and that engine, as seen will not bolt to a 369/UN1 because it is from a transverse application. You can switch the lower crank case and sump and then it would, but frankly that's the easy bit. Getting the EFi to work is another matter.

Thanks for that Martin….I knew you would know. Probably not worth the bother then.

What Make, Model had the nearest to our Delorean engines?

There you go, I thought the block was the same at least! Other than that easiest is volvo 260 early 760. Look almost identical apart from the sump and a few other bits and bobs.

The block is not the same as it has 93mm bore liners.

Is our Delorean engine totally unique then Martin?

It's a unique combination of standard components, all of which are used on other cars - except the sump, even though that has a Renault part number.
