Evening all,
Just had a nice day of cleaning up Maddie ready for show season.
Just been going over the car to do some maintenance bits. I noticed the right hand side driving lights weren't coming on, nor were the instrument lights etc.
Checked out the fuse's and low and behold she'd blown the 10amp fuse.
Put a new one in and it blow straight away. So.... what could it be? and how should I go about locating the offending device?

I take it it is fuse 8.
The fuse will protect a number of devices in the car.
Unplug these devices one by one until the fuse stops blowing.
The device you have just unplugged is the one with the fault.
If this doesn't work then chances are you will have a short circuit.
Chances are it will be the wiring for the cigarette lighter shorting but only testing will tell.
Whatever, don't put in a larger fuse to compensate.

Ok I'll spend some time tomo going over the lights etc.
Could it have been due to the fact that I'd just cleaned the car with a jet wash and there could be water in come of the bulb holders on the car?
Fuse 8 (10 amps - not via Main or Accessory relay) protects:
Right Hand tail lamp
Side lamps
Front Parking lamp
License plate lamp
Cigar lighter lamp
Instrument panel illumination lamps
Main light switch lamp
Hazard warning switch lamp
Digital Clock Lamp.

Yep thats the ones..... first I just thought I had a passenger side front side light out, then I noticed the rear side one had gone too, then the rear tail lights then the instrument lights and the passenger side license plate light.
I thought, hang on I ain't that unlucky to blow all those bulbs! lol!
I'll see what happens tomo when she's all dried out.

Check behind the lights incase any Scotch Locks have been used to wire up your side lights

Oh and the fog lights aren't working either (the DMCUK version)

Hmmm.... not having much luck with this at the moment.
I've taken the cigarette lighter out, still popped.
Removed all the bulbs down the RH side of the car. Still popped.
Taken the rear RH lights out. Still popped.
I guess I gotta take the instrument cluster out now then

Might take you up on this mate if I don't get anywhere today.
I must admit, its quite nice working in the new barn now with all the new tools and toys.
All I need now is a tea machine
try left hand side side running lamps and other easier to get at items before removing the instrument cluster.
Double check that the actual fuse holder itself hasn't melted on the underside and caused a short circuit.
