DeLorean For Sale (VIN 4468).
#1
Unfortunately the time has come to sell my pride and joy. She's an October '81 5 speed manual, with grey interior and grooved hood.

I bought Vin 4468 about 18 months ago from Texas and shipped her back. She spent the first 6 months with Chris Nicholson (PJ Grady) being refurbished (I do have a complete pictorial history of the work Chris carried out there). In that time it had in excess of £8K's worth of work carried out to her.

This is a list of most of the work that has been carried out to date;
New trailing arm bolts.
Lower front ball joints.
Steering track rod ends.
Lower stabilizer arm bushes.
All new SS fuel lines.
All new coolant hoses.
SS recall plates.
SS brake lines.
SS coolant bottle.
Refurbished water pump.
Refurbished warm up regulator.
New radiator.
New Battery.
New old stock leather seat covers.
New leather gear stick gator.
Refurbished binnacle and dash top.
New relay update kit.
New fuse box.
New fuel tank.
New fuel sender.
New fuel pump.
Re-plated fuel filler neck.
Lowered front springs.
New brake master cylinder.
New pads front and back.
New discs front.
New clutch.
New clutch slave cylinder.
New strut kit fitted.
Front and Rear fascias painted.
Total SS re-grain and refurb of whole car (including dent(s) removal and repair to rear wing.)
New glove box and engine bay lights.
New Ballast resistor.
Rebuilt transmission and new seals fitted.
2 new main door seals, lower door seals and T-panel seals.
New convex wing mirror glass.
New coil and plugs.
New HT leads.
New Alternator.
New otterstat.
New belts.
New filters.
New oil sender.
All injectors cleaned (John Hervey Texas)
Outer sunvisor repainted.
New fibreglass headliners.
Brand new DMC floor mats - unopened/unused.
UK spec lights and fog light.
Valley of death cleaned and painted.
LED door lights set.

It's a Texas (dry state) car so has no corrosion underneath and an original windscreen still. And only has 10,918 miles on the clock.

She runs very well, strong acceleration in all gears but there is a small electrical issue affecting the acceleration after 60 minutes of running (which will be resolved shortly). The aircon also doesn't work and the drivers side window is very slow in one direction (ideally needs a new motor ). And that's about it really.

I would like in the region of £21K for her, but am open to very sensible offers.

For further details, pictures and any questions then please pm me.

Thanks
Steve

Many thanks Chris - and thanks for your help/advice when I was importing her back to the uk. A change of circumstances has meant she has to go, very sadly Cry

If anyone is interested then let me know.

Thanks Steve.

Lovely car Steve, it will go.

We all have "changes in circumstances" from time to time. I was gutted ( although I hate the expression) when I was obliged to sell vin 510. Really sorry now I didn't buy it back when I had the chance!!!

The price is a bargin for a car in that condition, particularly if the aircon just needs regassed.

Looks very tidy Steve, as others have said, I can't see it hanging around long at that price. Good luck with the sale.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. I've had a lot of fun with this project from finding, importing and watching her being resurrected. Although the most fun is actually driving her that's for sure (especially the very first drive).

Sadly life gets in the way of fun and she really should go on to a new owner now.

Thanks
Steve

Brilliant, thanks for that Claire. There are a couple of very interested parties now. Hopefully (and sadly) 4468 will have a new owner shortly.

Many thanks

Congrats on your sale Steve. Hope you held out for your full asking price as it was worth that all day long.

What part of the country will your car be going to?

Ben
