Current Prices Of Delorean in the US?
#1
Don't know if its just me ...have the prices of Deloreans risen over the past year in the states...

I watch the prices of D's all the time and always on the look out.
This time last year I purchased a D from the states and paid and hefty sum for it.....at the moment I'm watching D's across the pond on the look out for a project.
I cant help notice but D's seem to fetching/asking huge money at the moment ...fact or myth?

Im having difficulty trying to find a project for less than 12K...if anyone see's one let me know , I'll buy it. D's in good nick $25K++++ plus easily.

Hopefully they are. The option to import cars from the states as a cheaper alternative is making DeLorean popularity in the UK higher.

That's a good and a bad thing in my opinion.

Good because it keeps the car alive

Bad because over popularity can make a rare car not that rare hence decreasing the value.

I may be wrong.

Eventually DeLoreans in the USA will reach an all time high because they are becoming less there, but more everywhere else as people import them. I doubt there are many occasions when a D is reimported back to the USA.

I don't know what the current number of DeLoreans is in the UK now, but I'd guess there's 50+ more now than when I bought my car 7 years ago.

Frightening Statistics!

Just because cars are advertised for a high price does not mean they are selling at that price. If you want a project car for under $12k, post a wanted ad on DMCTalk - that sort of money should buy you a very good project.

I've noticed the same. Good on them, it's what the Ford guys did and have been very successful in getting the value back up for those Cosworths. The newer cars get, the more I prefer my classics.

Not that many more. When I got the figures a few years ago it was around the 125 both on and off road (actual cars registered with DVLA). I was aware of at least 10 others unknown and I guess the figure is probably closer to 150-170 now.

Not directly linked to the states but a couple of months ago Practical Classics magazine upped their valuation for the DeLorean.

I can't remember what it stands at now but it's certainly heading steadily upwards.
