Cheers mate You don't happen to be at Carfest this year do you? I've spoken to so many on you on here and had so much advice privately, it would be great to meet up and grab you all a pint at some point.

I've also sorted out the front eyebrows (ala heatgun) and aligned my headlights properly by replacing the little plastic brackets behind them. It made me realise how bad they were when she first came over. That damn American heat

I'm not going to Carfest, no. Too rich for my blood still. I'm already being bled dry by OWNING cars, never mind bunging on top of that the cost to SHOW cars, or attend expensive shows, like Carfest to SEE cars. One day. Hopefully. I had a full on year last year, so needed to take a year out. Got other expenses, still car related, to clear off this year....i'm also trying to save for a house with a garage to keep LEX with me instead of at the parents too. It's all a bit of a slog. I think I ought to win the lottery and be done with it all at once. Fancy going forward to tomorrow night and coming back to let me know the Euro Milliions lottery numbers? Be really helpful it would. I think I need a higher paying job.....or less cars....?.... nah. higher paid job!
...Time to think about lightening the colour (or should that be "color" ) of those bumpers of yours next. Definitely bring up the appearance a bit closer to BTTF. (If you don't mind the input - positive input)

I can fully relate to that one! I'm skint now, but I've got my dream car. You can't have it all! I live in a 2 bedroom terraced house, but when I move to a larger property next, the time machine will definitely have to go I'll be happy with the memories and I don't regret for a moment taking the plunge. I've met many cool people in the community and quite a few locally so will stay in touch etc.
You got it right first time, colour! You know what, I see what you're saying, but I genuinely love the darker fascias. I think it works really well with giving the car a meaner look. I have the correct Alfa colour (as kindly provided by Mr Ward) and my father is a body panel specialist, but I chose to keep this colour.

It would mess with my OCD if the fascias on my car were the wrong colour.

It's like other classic cars. A good example is my previous MR2. The earlier models had black trims on all cars, but were colour coded on later versions. I actually preferred the earlier style. There's a few guys over on DMCTalk that commented both publicly and privately that they looked the 'unpainted' look and were going to do the same. It matches the lower section of the bumper which I think looks cool.
I guess many classic cars had little cosmetic changes over the years, but had a far larger production than our Ds. As there are so little of them, people tend to notice it more when things aren't as factory and don't seem to like it

Exactly, that's why I'm a bit of a stickler for liking things stock.

Doc Browns time machine.....? What exactly is stock about that
He created an 8 seater Delorean for the ride, why not have a visual upgrade on the fascias?

Loving the conversations here-just to say about CarFest, we went to last years ( Club stand sorted out by top man Darren C) and it was a great day, not expensive at all, and all about cars be they Rollers or Renaults, and well worth going to if you love your motors, best part for me was walking around the 'pits' area taking photos before the public were allowed in 8)
With regards to BTTF replicas, I think they should only have standard DMC replacement parts fitted to be completely purist............but it's only from a Hollywood film, gents!!!!
#10556 'Ol Stainless' running surprisingly well,Audi A5 2.0T Quattro smug as usual,Wenault Slaguna stationary for the mo',the R.V.Enterprise clocking the U.K.miles up,new fleet addition-Jessica the Daewoo Matiz,silly but 55mpg....!

 Great amount of respect for Mike Ward and the other that shall not be named here  It's fun to hear about the tiny details, but that's as far as it goes with me. My car is damn close as confirmed by them, but there will always be little details even the A-Car has wrong or have upgraded. There will never been a truly screen accurate one, unless you can go back in time and steal the A-Car. The replicas are great, as they can perform some of the special effects and are more practical for day to day use.
