Your last post above, should have been your first post, rather than all that old nonsense. (Although I hope it spurred you into action; and realising your dream).
I really wish you well, but hope you haven't overstreched yourself in getting there. That said and off my chest, lets move forward.
Welcome to the nut house.
I agree
That's all just a 'blast from the past'. I look forward to meeting you all!

glad you are living the dream at last, and yes, get yerself down to Lincolnshire on Saturday,
I can email the organisers with your name and reg number so that they've got you on the list
- it will cost you £6.00 as a driver, and if you bring a passenger they will pay £13.50 - however
it is for the benefit of the RAF Benevolent Fund, so its a good cause.
Also, the DOC-UK does help raise money for Parkinsons UK each year (I have collection tins, banners,
etc), I decided it would be better for the DOC-UK to get involved with charities closer to home if
you get my drift.
Be great if you can make it to an event, there's plenty going on - East Kirkby and Hope Valley this weekend,
and a Parkinsons Fundraiser in Derbyshire the weekend after
Be nice to meet you after all this time and have a proper chat
Hey Clare!
As per my previous posts, it will be a little while until I can make some events as I have quite a few things I need to finish off and perfect (i'm a bit of a perfectionist) but will definitely be arranging to come to an event. If there are any planned around West Yorkshire towards the end of October, it would be great!
I agree, I look forward to seeing you all in person and helping out where I can. With regards to Parkinsons UK, perhaps that is a better way for me to help out..? I'll have a chat with you privately about this going forwards I'm sure!

Sounds great Claire! I think it would be wise to arrange a local meet somewhere in West Yorkshire so that I can get a feel for the car and its reliability
I have driven quite a few left handers when in the states, one a manual, so I'll be fine with that. It's the bulky kit on the back that doesn't help too much with visibility until I get used to it. Mike has very kindly made me aware of curved side mirrors that I will need so will look to have those done shortly.
Perhaps X-Scape in Castleford would be a good place? There's quite a few bars there and plenty of space for people to have a good chat etc..? It would be great to see a line of Deloreans there, I never get bored of seeing them. 8) Failing that, there are some great country pubs around here. Here's a favourite of mine: http://www.thesun-inn.co.uk/
It's a bikers pub that allow pets and have all sorts of entertainment inside. There's always car and bike enthusiasts around! I was thinking towards the end of October, weather permitting. Maybe October 21st, it's also a Sunday
p.s. Cheers for the FB invite, glad you liked my story

well said Steven, as I've already mentioned to Luke, the DOC-UK has helped
support Parkinsons UK, and I can put anyone who's interested in touch with
the representatives that I deal with for the Charity.
Charity begins at 'home' so they say

I'll certainly help where I can and its a fantastic idea to donate to a UK based charity, be it Parkinson's or any other.
I work with some charity organisations in my current job, and one particular terminal illness hospice are delighted that I can offer it free of charge for some events next summer to generate some healthy donations for them. I genuinely look forward to bringing some hope/smiles to their faces, it will be the most satisfying part for sure. :-)

Luke you mentioned your dealing with the usa parkinsons i take it you mean Team Fox, have you paid them to fund raise? i just didnt think it was right, very interested if you have taken it one more step than i did
Hi Steve,
I spoke with a nice lady who was very interested but haven't gone into detail yet. You would have thought it would be free to donate?! Crazy..
I quite like the idea of Claires anyway. We need to take care of our own!

Hiya Steven,
I'll pass the number on to Phillippa Davies, she's the co-ordinator I originally
dealt with when we did the event based round Chirk, near Wrexham.
She can then pass on your details to the right people for your part of the
country.
Cheers for offering to help

If you're filling the tank with petrol 'to the brim', make sure the 2 jubilee clips holding the fuel pump boot to the tank & the pump have a good seal. Personally I never fill it too much just to be safe.
Also you've probably realised, holding the nozzle trigger half way will help prevent some 'blow back' at the filler. If you know what I mean....
