contact Eddie Tindall at
editor@deloreans.co.uk, he'll give you an
idea what to write, and can probably help with constructing the
article for you

I had a similar problem way back in 2004, and remembered that I gave the work to a local garage that specialised in Bosch fuel injection systems, and had the car a few days to have a look at it. The ecu was at fault and as it happens they fitted an alternative ecu off a General Motors car which has worked fine ever since. There was only one wiring difference and I'll post a diagram of the wiring soon-the ecu was marked 'LEERLAUFREGLER 02802200009'
and '12v 62 YJ'.
Not sure about how the thing works but its got something to do with the idle unit! On the info paper given to me by the garage Vauxhall is mentioned by the diagram. Maybe this could help with a similar problem. 8)

it would be interesting to know what Vauxhall its off, as I'm on several
Vauxhall forums, so it could be a way of sourcing replacements from
scrap cars possibly.

The mechanic didnt tell me what it Vauxhall it was off, just that Bosch recomended it to them while they made enquries about the K-jet set up. Maybe the 6 cylinder Senator (straight 6 I think) or similar Opel derivative. 8) 8)

I scanned the original paperwork I was given when I picked the DMC up, and amongst details of the fuel injection tuning (5-7 pages ) was this note. The black/yellow wire that disapears under the injection manifold has something to do with the aircon. 8)

It has nothing to do with air con. Pins 9 and 11 are connected across the thermistor which tells the idle ECU how hot the engine is.

Thanks for that, amended wiring diagram accordingly. 8)

well the only 6cyl Vauxhall/Opel units in the DeLorean days would have been the Senator/Monza.
I'd have to ask one of my mates in the VODC with an early Senny 3.0CD about his one and see
if its the same as a DeLorean one.
Early Senny's and Monza's are getting rare now tho......

can anyone on here post a pic of the ECU so that I can show it to the
Senny boys and see if it is the same?
