Hahaha! Its the latest in police camera avoiding technology, real-time photoshop. Kidding, of course (duh) lol. Saved myself about £80 or so I think, grille was £18.95, badge (for the authentic touch) was £8 haha!

Talking of front grilles, i notice my front lower rock screen on the D is looking a little 'tired' just wish the oem part was a little cheaper Sad

Don't PJ do some kind of 'revival' service? Might be cheaper than a new part?

nice mate, not too chav at all!!! Smile

Guinney's getting some subtle upgrades from an early SRi Cavalier, and tonight we picked up 5 brand new Irmscher Alloys including centre caps that I won on ebay for £110. Result! Big Grin

I'm really hoping to have Guinney done (including new rear arches Sad ) in time for the big Vauxhall meet at Billing Aquadrome in July....

Wicked Claire! Yeah Id really like some 16" Irmscher Softstar wheels and some Eibach springs, my car handles like a bag of soil, so so bad! The springs would lower it by about 30mm or so, so it would look way better! The Cavalier sounds like its gonna look sweet!

Try fitting a front upper strut brace, you will be amazed with the handling!

When the strut brace is in place... you will then realise (if you have) how crap the stock tyres are... and that will then be on your list of things to change right away

hmmm, interesting, hadnt thought about a strut brace....... the Cav is renowned for 'soft' handling and is a bit "whoaaa!!!" if you go too fast into a tight bend

we're going to a big Vauxhall spares day tomorrow, so I'll see if I can get one Smile

The wheels I got were 14" Softstar's. I dont want to go down the huge wheels, whalefin spoilers, etc route, as thats too Chav for me. I think they'll look nice on the car. I've got some tyres to fit with good tread, they'll do until I can afford £180 for 5 new tyres!

I'll probably end up not doing anything else to the car. The insurance would go up with wheels etc so there we go. It was purely wishfull thinking. I think Im gonna be getting another car at some point (b4 the D) so I recon its prob best just to save for that.

Not sure if the 2.0 16v Cavalier strut brace will fit, but I guess you could always give them a ring! OMP isn't the best (i.e. not the lightest, prettiest...etc), but it's one of those that are well know for best value for money/performance!

Though, I can gurantee you will be amazed with how much effect it does if fitted correctly!

ah, good point.

The fuel injected Cav's (like the SRi) had a different arrangement at the back of the engine bay due to the injector rails and stuff. My Cav has got a carburettor with an air box on the top of that, so there might not be enough clearance for a bracing strut. I'll have to nip outside and have a look under the bonnet and see how much room there is.

Talking of carbs though.......I was tempted to put some twin 40 webers on the Rapier - until I saw a pair that are on ebay at the moment (item 260093288595) ..... bit too pricey for me just yet, but when I've got some cash I think I'll have to get some - and fit some of Speedograph Ritchfield's chrome air filters too. Hi John,

there were some strut braces at the Vauxhall Autojumble today, but none suitable for my car, and TBH they didnt look all that and were nearly £50.

Got some right bargains though Big Grin

Cav GSi leather steering wheel £2
Cav SRi hatchback rear spoiler £5
New ex GM Stock NSR door moulding £3
Pair of brand new front discs £15
New bonnet badge £1
+ also a Cav GSi (irmscher) front grille £1

BING! Big Grin (as Rich would say  )

I love autojumbles! Big Grin
