I'm sooooo looking forward to going back to Dorset, somewhere I've had many a happy
holiday or weekend away over the last 20yrs, but I'm looking forward to visiting places
I've not been before.

I've had confirmation from the Tank Museum about our prominent parking at the museum,
Kingston Lacey have confirmed we can display our cars in front of the house (on the driveway
leading up to it), and I'm going to speak to the National Trust this week about parking at Lulworth
Cove.

Lets just hope this lovely weather holds out for us!!

Yes, should be a great weekend meeting up with friends old and new. Big Grin
Be good to see Chris,And & Barrie's new book along with getting the story behind his new car. If everything goes to plan we should have some new posters/tee shirts for sale/viewing as well.

It would be great to catch up again Stuart.

Dinner is usually about 6pm, on the Saturday, with the speaker starting just after we have finished..say about 8 ish, But Claire may have more up to date info. You would need to book in for dinner at least a couple of days in advance. There were till a few rooms available at the hotel the last time I checked, but enquire yourself if you are interested.

Off topic I know…..but on Wednesday???? I received a request by BBC Radio Derby to "Pop Down to Belper" " and let them have a look at my car. As its only 15 mins from my house I duly did…..But not before i'd phoned Richard Hanlon who turf I would be on!! Unfortunately his number had been changed, from the one I had. I did try Richard…..honest!

Anyway…for those of you are fed up with my little written pieces….I can now bore you with my voice as well! It was completely unscripted and off the cuff, I hope to think I did OK.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0201ksc start at about 44 mins in…..it only last 5 mins….

can anybody tell me where I can find agenda for event?
I'm planing to drive from Milton Keynes on Saturday morning, but if guest speaker speech is Friday or Sunday I will have to change my plans as that is quite interesting part of whole event. If I'm not staying in hotel can I actually attend the speech? (however I would go for a dinner)

Is Saturday rather also chat next to cars, checking who got what problems etc? I would like to have a chat with few owners, specially those who made some restoration or conversions as that is my point of interest. I'm not owner yet, but hoping that trip to Norway will change it.

thanks for answers!

There is a downloadable pdf on page 2 of this topic next to last posting, this is a copy of a newsletter that was sent out.

Guest speaker will be after dinner on the Saturday evening, I'm sure it would not be a problem for you (or anyone) to stay after the meal, I'm sure it will be a great chance to chat with other owners as well.

Plan is per the pdf, we sort of go with the flow most people are happy to chat whenever/wherever! 8)

great that so many potential owners are coming along to this event, including our nutty
Renault owing friend Prajhot (prabmire on here), who is gonna stay with his sister in Wareham.

Hard to think, this time next week, it will all be over, and the planning will commence for
the DOC-UK's 2015 soiree to East Anglia ............

ok peeps, 4 days to go !!!!!!!!

I've been doing some final preps for the weekend today, more to do, but here's some
info for people coming:

if you want to avoid going the 'long way' to Swanage if heading towards Bournemouth/Poole,
you can take the Sandbanks Ferry, which is £3.50 and knocks about 13 miles off your journey.
http://www.sandbanksferry.co.uk/index.php
for those of you using sat nav, the post code is BH13 7QN, or directions here:
http://www.sandbanksferry.co.uk/directions.php

Bovington Tank Museum, which is our venue after breakfast on Saturday, is really easy to get to.
You head out of Swanage on the A351 towards Wareham, then turn left onto the A352, follow that,
then turn right on a roundabout up Toot Hill, then left onto Bovington Lane. It is signposted from Wareham
anyway, but the postcode is BH20 6JG if you want to follow your sat nav.

After Bovington Tank Museum, we're heading for Lulworth Cove on the spectacular Jurassic Coast.
There is a large car park there, and the address is Main Road, West Lulworth, BH20 5RQ

On Sunday, we are off to Kingston Lacy NT, and I have received email confirmation today to say they
are looking forward to welcoming us and our cars to their property. As we will be on display in a public area,
there will probably be restrictions on un escorted vehicle movements (risk assesments, public liability, etc),
but I am speaking to them tomorrow about this and sending them a copy of our Public Liability Insurance.
It really is a beautiful property, in stunning grounds, and the DOC-UK is covering the cost of your entry to
the property. Kingston Lacy's website is here: http://www.nationaltrust.org.uk/kingston-lacy/
It is on the B3082 Blandford to Wimborne Road, apparantly sat nav can be unreliable in finding them lol, but
the address is: Kingston Lacy, Wimborne Minster, Dorset, BH21 4EA

I am going to try and put together a pack for people attending with full information on, and multimap directions
for people without sat nav.

See you all in Daaaarsettt this weekend! Big Grin

If I can point out this that Claire mentioned at the very begining of this topic that I kept missing in newsletters:
Quote:They have advised, that the easiest way into their car park (avoiding a narrow driveway) is via Manor Road,
so put Manor Road, Swanage in your sat nav when you set off.

Although looking at it on street view, there seems to be a very low height restriction on the rear entrance, no problem for a DMC-12 but a Range Rover might have trouble.
