...I'm not sure about actual removal of the steering wheel (since i've never removed one from the column) but with the splined connection rod, the only restriction you have for positioning of the column in relationship to the rack position, is the flats on the splines (used for locking the bars in place to stop them sliding apart, not for locking the rotational movement, as this is obviously done with the fact that the connections are splined)

Anyhow, yes, as with the odd problem I've come across with Delorean ownership over the years (and I think thats over 7 years now, may even be 8) I've always put them up on the forum so hopefully when the problem is solved, other people can learn too.
I think there "maybe" something more going on, but I want to double check a few things first, then I'll get back on here.
Cheers for any advice though, its always helpful. Every suggestion is valid until every avenue has been covered.
