Dash removal
#10
I took my binnacle out last night for the second time and had it out in less than 15 minutes. If its your first time it will be about half an hour.

If you take you drivers seat out of the car it makes it so much better to see right up under the dash.

There is SIX nuts holding the binnacle to the dash and by removing the big black plastic air tubing under the binnacle you will have a much better reach at nuts and bolts hidden underneath.

Once you have removed these nuts GENTLY pull the binnacle towards you in the car from the rear, stick you hand in from the left and you will feel an electrical plug, remove this then going deeper you will also feel the speedo cable, this is held on by a clip underneath that you can release by pushing it inwards. Then stick your hand in from the right and remove the last electrical plug and the binnacle will be able to come away from the dash.

As said above removing the dash console is easy enough but just take your time and remove all the nuts and bolts that hold it down. Have a magnetic tray or a bowl to put all the parts in, there will be loads!!

Here is a link to a site that has downloadable guides on removing the binnacle, dash and centre console.
