lol - Flopsy's old windscreen cracked, and Uroglass supplied Autoglass with a new one, complete
with inbuilt antenna (correct for my vin) - we're lucky though, we've got no excess on windscreens on our insurance (got a Trade and Classic policy to cover all 9 of our cars), so my new screen cost nowt

There's a reason why insuracne companies exempt windscreens from the standard policy and allow you to claim without affecting your no-claims. It's becuase it's in their interest for you to be able to see where you're going.... and anyone through no fault of their own can get a cracked windscreen at any time.

yeah but the cost has got to come frome somewhere, the excess is say, £50, your whole policy is £250, but the replacement of a screen costs £500...... still makes policy prices go up.

But as its likely to happen to all of us at some point, the cost will average out over time

costs never average out if everyone takes advantage, even when they shouldnt.
