Blackbushe is in Surrey and not the Culloden auction.
The Receiver sold off a number of cars throughout GB at British Car Auctions.
Robert
Thanks.
the name was so close to Bushmills Black Bush, I had wondered if there had been as slip up.

is practically brand new seems a bargain - ok, it will need new tyres and other work if the new owner intends to
use it, but even so......
Surely it wouldn't have got through the MOT on 30 year old tyres?

Sold for 26k plus commission + vat
Chris
What would the commission and VAT add?
12% commission on the price?
20% VAT on the total (price + comm) or just price?

when I've been to antiques auctions and bought stuff, its generally the hammer price, plus
a buyers premium (commission), usually 10-15%, then there is VAT added to the buyers premium.
On the figures you've said for this car:
Hammer Price £26,000.00
12% Commission £ 3,120.00
VAT on Comm' £ 624.00
TOTAL: £29,744.00
The tyres will pass a UK MOT if they have more the 1.6mm of tread, there are no bulge and the
sidewalls are undamaged. However, having read a story about a man killed when his MG sportcar
crashed whilst on 25yr old 'original looking' tyres. He was going to a concours event where originality
is everything, and the tyres let go at around 50mph.

blimey, I wish I could double my money on some of the cars I've owned, I think the only one
I've ever come close to doing that on was my Astra Convertible, which I bought for £377 in
2008 and sold for £625 just after Xmas
(and the money was invested 2 days later in my
current hack, an ex-hearse Vauxhall Omega Estate
)
