Looking through ebay today, found out that the Renault gearbox is called a 'UN 1'-never knew that! Type in Renault UN 1 and it comes up with quite a few bits and pieces including a brand new unused gearbox, but for £950! Worth it for that ground up restoration? Amazing what you can find on the bay! 8)

The DeLorean has an earlier incarnation called the 369 and while it's a direct replacement, there are umpteen variants and unless you get one from a naturally aspirated Alpine GTA, you'll have different ratios and 5 gears going backwards.
