I've just replaced my central locking module with a new one and guess what? it still does nothing not even a sound. as the manual doesn't specifically list a fuse that controls this i assume its live all the time. the next step is to take the door panels off and look at the solenoids. just wondering before i do this is there any silly things i can check first.

...And what is that thick red wire that is not attached to anything on the door lock module? surely this is not meant to be just hanging?

The red wire is the power supply so nothing will happen if it's not connected. It goes onto the circuit breaker that has its legs pointing up and a fat brown wire powering it.
