Interesting! Any idea how you got 200hp out of them? If you could post up a picture or two it might generate some more interest. What car were the fitted in for racing out of interest?

Hi. The engines are taken from a Peugeot p4 rally edition. Only build 6 in the world in fiberglass body. They have drives as fast service car for the Peugeot rallyteam in Paris-Dakar. The 200bhp idon´t know. But i got a lot of special electronic boxes with each engine. The man i brought them from claimed the 200bhp, and he brought thme from Peugeot wich claim the same! Iwill post some pic during the weekend. Kind regards. Sune

What he said. Those are EFI engines, and unless the flywheel is the same as used by Renault, the engine management will need to be replaced if fitting to a DeLorean.

Seems like it's come out of one of these beasts:

Any risk to the engine internals from all the dust/sand on the Dakar rally? Or are the major problems here the engine management and likely fuel system issues (due to having sat for so long)?

Depends how good the air filter was

The engine management shouldn't be affected at all, unless the memory is powered by a battery which has since died, but I'd expect it to have been a PROM. The fuel system on an EFI engine is unbelievably simple compared to K-Jet, and you'd be looking at having the injectors cleaned, replacing the pressure regulator (about £75), make up some new hoses and soaking the injector rails in acetone. It'd probably work without any of this!

If the oil came out clean, and the engine turns by hand smoothly, I'd take the plugs out and run some oil down the bores, crank it slowly by hand a few times, replace the plugs, oil and filter and try and start it. The state of the external hardware though is pretty poor, I don't think it has been stored well.
