That is crazy Alistair, that car is 2 vins away from mine, yet it looks COMPLETELY different? :?
In fact you'd be forgiven for thinking mines an 81 from a first glance!
I really need to track down the first owner and see if can piece the puzzle together...

The surviving examples from the vin range that we think were made for the Middle East, are all automatics.The piece in the puzzle for your car will probably only be put together by that first guy.
I suspect somewhere it had a different bonnet fitted.
