My bottle / pump was submerged in 2" of mud and the water bottle was cracked.
I repaired it using a hot melt glue gun (which melts the pastic of the bottle) and then patched it with some of that aluminium sheet coated in bitumen as used to repair flat roofs.
The main problem I found was that the holes in the cover do not line up properly with those in the body tub, with a good shove you can get it to fit. The problem with doing this is that it stresses the water bottle which inevitably leads to it cracking. Elongate the holes in the cover if it doesn't line up to relieve the pressure on the bottle inside.
