I genuinely can't decide, I keep swithering between the two...

Could be onto something there Dermot!
Perhaps I need this one 'as well', not 'instead', for when doing Delorean-related stuff!

Great stuff, you'll have to see if it still works!
I've been researching genuine old ones but they have to be digital not analogue as they will never work again. Apparently the earliest digital one which will still work is a Motorola 8500. Few available on the 'bay but I might like to have text message capability as s slight concession to modernity!

1994! You must have been minted! When owning a mobile was cool! 8)
My first mobile was a analogue Nokia . First Digital was a Nokia 2110 , in fact that was a great phone.
Coolest phone ever was my Ericsson R290 Sat Phone. Fantastic when your on a cruise ship and other people
can't understand how you have got a signal!
Not sure about the brick. Cool in about 1986/7 only to be used to accessorise your best Miami Vice suit.

This was my first one, it was given to me as part of my job at the time. I was really excited until I got this:

that explains why my back is bad now, lol

I found an original mid 80s carphone going cheap a while back, picked it up for possible addition to the center console. Might hide a bluetooth pickup in it so it can be used as an actual phone (except for dialing).
