Sweden Event May 9th-12th 2013

The Sweden Event 2013 in a nutshell.

In a previous issue of the magazine of the Dutch DeLorean Club we have published the progress of the event that's coming up in 2013. The next magazine's issue (February 2013) we promised to lift the vail on the prices. A promise is a promise and so hereafter is the definite setup for the event regarding the journey to i tand the costs of travelling and staying over.

The Swedish organisers have chosen to use an all-in total price for the event. In this total price is included the registration fee, staying over, breakfast and diner for two days. The room price, including food is based on two persons. Should you want a room for yourself (single bedroom) there is an extra fee. It seems logical – also if you have no passenger – to opt for a double bedroom, to prevent paying that extra single bedroom fee.

The daily activities for the event are not yet set fully. I therefore suggest you visit the organisation's website (http://dims.dmc12.se/index.php/registration.html) regularly for the state of the event.

The journey is by road to Kiel (Germany), from where we travel by a Stena Line ferry. Those who have used ferries – e.g. to England – before, know this ferry company.
The crossing to Göteboirg takes roughly 14 hours, of which you probably mostly will be in a bunk. After arrival at Göteborg we disembarque (of course), pass Customs and then drive to Kungalv.

The event's website mentions the hotel having a good parking area, so your car will be safe. You can get an impression of the hotel and rooms at the hotel's website (http://www.farshatt.se/index.php?article_id=3&clang=1). That website can also be reached using the "Accomodation" page at the Event website.

Now everything important lined up:
Journey:
Outward: Thursday May 9th, 2013, Kiel; embarqueing from 16:45-17:45 hours; departure 18:45.
Arrival Friday May 10th at Göteborg, scheduled 09:00 hours.

Return: Sunday May 12th, 2013, Göteborg; embarqueing from 16:45-17:45; departure 18:45.
Arrival Monday May 13th at Kiel, scheduled 09:00 hours.

Travel costs:
Car with two persons, return trip € 268,00 (Stena Line joke: this price includes 5 persons!)
Extra for sleeping accommodation by choice:
- Inner cabin for 2 persons (stacked beds) € 79,00 single journey, total € 158,00 return trip.
- Inner cabin for 2 persons (double bed) € 95,00 single journey, total € 190,00 return trip.

Food while crossing, per person (reservation desired, then checkmark that option on the registration form you have to request at DCN Acquisitie.
- dinner buffet (including softdrink/bier/wine/coffee/thee by choice) € 36,00 single trip (€ 72,00 return trip).
- breakfast buffet € 13,00 single trip (€ 26,00 return trip).

Stay at the event hotel:
Total, all inclusive price for a double bedroom and two persons SEK 3000 (now approx. € 336,00).
For a single bedroom an extra charge of SEK 175,00 (now approx. € 20,00) is mandatory.

At the organisation's website is memntioned an option of staying an extra night at the hotel (May 9 to 10), but that is not within our travel schedule and the belonging ferry prices. The costs for the extra night has tob e payed directly to the hotel.
Should there be participants who wish to extend their stay in Sweden, please inform DCN Acquisitie immediately so we can negotiate alternative return trip dates with Stena Line.

Calculation example:
Your travel totals 2 persons to this event.
You pay € 268,00 for the car, a stacked bed inner cabin € 158,00, you do not reserve either dinner or breakfast. Your total trip costs are € 426,00.
You takea double bedroom in the hotel, no extra days, no single bedroom fee.
You pay € 336,00 (currency exchange date 21.12.12).
This event will cost you € 762,00. In this total food and beverages while on route, aboard the ferry and during the event are not included.

Registration:
Registration for this travel arrangement until March 15, 2013.
All registrations for participation in this event are handeld by our DCN Acquisition department.
Upon registration by e-mail you will receive a registration form that has to be sent back by returning e-mail.
Invoicing participants is done by our treasurer.
Payment has to be received by the treasurer before or on the date mentioned at the invoice you receive by e-mail.
