Having read the recent Gullwing magazine I found that the 3.0 Eagle PRV (similar I guess to the 3L Safrane or A610) was using the following ECU:-

I wonder how this compares to the ECU interface being looked at with the current DeLorean projects.

Megasquirt learns your optimum setup whilst you drive and also gives you the flexibility of making your own adjustments.

Megasquirt is an open-source EFI ECU. That's EFI as in Electronic Fuel Injection.

EFI is often also used to describe standalone engine management, and that is something that Megasquirt doesn't do AFAIK. This includes Electronic/mappable IGNITION. Or at least not without building it yourself. You need this on an even fire engine - any of the 3 litre engines.

To use megasquirt, you have to be pretty clued up with electronics as well as software. It WON'T run an odd-fire engine. Very few ECUs will, and those that do are very pricey. except ours, of course Big Grin

FYIO the eagle PRV has a compression ratio of 9.2:1, the Safrane/Laguna engines are 9.6:1 and all the 3 litre PRVs over here have a balance shaft for smoother running, the Eagle engine does not.
