Silverstone Delorean - ayr41 - 18 Jul 2020 While wasting an hour I came across this Delorean for sale at Silverstone Classic Car Auction on the 31st July if anyone is interested seems a low estimate, dare say there with be Dealers sniffing around to bump up the price on that estimate? https://www.silverstoneauctions.com/events/2020-auctions/the-silverstone-classic-live-online-auction-2020/the-silverstone-classic-live-online-auction-2020/friday-31st-july-sale-11am-bst/1981-delorean-dmc-12 RE: Silverstone Delorean - mattjeh - 18 Jul 2020 MOT results over the last few years seemed to have a lot of failures, would this be a sign of the car generally needing a lot of work? RE: Silverstone Delorean - er1c - 18 Jul 2020 I saw that as well but most were for the tyres so I wouldn't read too much into it. It could be the case or it could be just someone looking to keep the original tyres, I wouldn't if I was planning on using it but you never know folks circumstances. RE: Silverstone Delorean - mattjeh - 18 Jul 2020 Don't get me wrong, potential bargain at £27k! RE: Silverstone Delorean - Chris Williams - 18 Jul 2020 Yehh other than cross member rust seems fairly common DeLorean MOT failure items. Was auctioned (or tried to be): https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/lacy-scott-and-knight/catalogue-id-srlac10262/lot-a9e2d6d1-6fce-4ae9-9e71-a8f000b602a4 In 2018 Chris RE: Silverstone Delorean - Chris P - 18 Jul 2020 They weren't the original tyres....it didn't look too bad to me. RE: Silverstone Delorean - mattjeh - 31 Jul 2020 Sold for £25,875. Plus additional costs I make that just short of £30k at £29,755 (12.5% plus VAT on that). So, someone grabbed a bargain or an expensive project? RE: Silverstone Delorean - Chris P - 01 Aug 2020 I think it was a good buy. DeLoreans don't seem to do very well at auctions ...most people's natural caution kicks in. .....Ive bought 4 from actions over the years and don't regret any on them.........live dangerously folk if you want a bargain ...is my tip.......or pay RETAIL! RE: Silverstone Delorean - Stuart Rees - 01 Aug 2020 Hey Matt, I was wondering if you were is a position to go for this one. Very close VIN to mine. Not a bad price at 30k. Again the auction house wins... RE: Silverstone Delorean - mattjeh - 01 Aug 2020 (01 Aug 2020, 12:02)Stuart Rees Wrote: Hey Matt, I was wondering if you were is a position to go for this one. Hi there, newbie alert!. I looked at this but figured it would go for a lot more than the estimate and factor in the 12.5% fees. Hence my decision to buy one in the US. Do you know how much it went for?
