VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - Chris Williams - 13 Nov 2017 https://www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2017-11-25/cars/ref-79-1981-delorean-dmc-12/ Not sure why but IIRC this is the third auction in two years this car has been through, sold at the others as well I think. RE: VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - TristanC - 11 Dec 2017 Back up for sale at £46,500 Grey auto, looks quite nice though. http://www.carandclassic.co.uk/car/C940303?dt=1 Previously sold at auction (op above) for £26,000 a few weeks back...... RE: VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - Guinney1971 - 13 Dec 2017 the word "greedy" springs to mind.... RE: VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - TristanC - 14 Dec 2017 Just found it here for £39,995 https://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/delorean/all-models/delorean-dmc-12--genuine-9800-miles--probably-the-very-best/8166274 RE: VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - Chris Williams - 04 Jan 2018 Now on Ebay for £46,500. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1981-DELOREAN-DMC-12-GENUINE-9800-MILES-FROM-NEW-PROBABLY-THE-FINEST/122894750449?hash=item1c9d1912f1:g:SZoAAOSwbw1aLVb4 RE: VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - TristanC - 04 Jan 2018 I’ve been following this one on eBay. Something very strange with it..... It started as an eBay ad for £46,500. That ended and it reappeared as a reserve auction which ended unsold, but reached £37,000. Then it was relisted again as a reserve auction and ended in a successful auction at just over £36,000 And now re-listed again as an advert for £46,500 ....... hmmmm RE: VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - Chris Williams - 04 Jan 2018 It certinally seems odd that it keeps going through both EBay and traditional auctions with either not selling or the buyer backs out. Chris RE: VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - TristanC - 11 Feb 2018 It's back for maybe the 4th or 5th auction.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122960616376 It is a lovely one, but the price scares me, especially as I am actively looking to purchase this year....... I even contacted them and asked what they'd realistically take (so at least if it was viable I'd not waste a trip to have a haggle) But they are stuck with the 39,995 price tag, don't want to negotiate. They say it's worth the 45,000 valuation. So i'm stumped on this one. Apparently the other auctions fell through and the winning bidders didn't contact them. The auction at historics.co.uk that Chris listed at the start of this thread, where it sold at 26,000...... they didn't comment on at all. I know profits need to be made and all. But I just don't feel this is a fair price. £35k... maybe? But good luck to them, hope they get the price they want. RE: VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - Chris P - 11 Feb 2018 Dealers try and get as much as possible...26 was a good price, but not 30+...IMO RE: VIN 5866 for auction 25th Nov 2017 - TristanC - 12 Feb 2018 Just wanted to update this thread in case someone did indeed want to buy... They contacted me out of the blue to say they would take £37,000 (still too much for me) But perhaps more important is that the car is not in the U.K. It is in fact, in Spain. Palma to be exact.... So there’s be no chance to inspect it unless you took a flight.... To be fair he said he could get it back over here in 10 days....... Make of that what you will..... |
