Fuel pressure testing - Sirolf - 02 May 2007

Hi guys

On another D i'm working has the problem to accelerate very badly.
Feels like a incorrect fuel pressure, no vacuumleak cause the idle is a steady 800.

I hooked a gauge in the fuel line going to the CPR. What pressure exist here?
I'm reading nothing... Frowner
Think the Fuel Distributor is shot..

Thanks...

Are you a paid member of the "De Lorean Owners CLub UK" ?

I've written a full fuel injection pressure test procedure for the club magazine.

Ask Mike Bosworth (bozzzy) for a back copy when you join.

Cold CPR Pressure - depends on temp of the CPR
Warm CPR Pressure - 3.4 to 4 bar roughly.

Check the routing of the vacuum pipes first to/ from the thermo-vac switch as chances are the piping to the CPR and the Spark Distributor will be swapped over.

No, i'm not a paid member..

I checked pressure yesterday..more than enough.
Adjusted air/fuel mixture to its best..
But still no power enough when driving, injectors though don't show
a nice enough spray pattern..does this influence performance a lot?

Have you checked the vacuum pipe routing?
There should be a diagram on the underside of the engine cover.

Poor injector spray pattern can account for a sluggish response but 9 times out of 10 a clean can restore them.

Rebuilt the VOD from ground up yesterday using new vacuum hoses and
o-rings. Set emissions to its best... Somewhat better.

Stiil spray pattern is aweful, so cleaning them is next to see if it helps,
otherwise replacing them.

I have a bosch k-jetronic injector spray/ pressure tester.
I could test/ clean them for you but you will have to pay return postage.

I think new ones are £35 each.
Standard B28E fuel injectors. Bosch (014) 0437 502 022

Book specs:
Break pressure >3.5bar
Rest pressure min 3.3 bar
