Wanted - Original fuel tank cover plate washers - Phil Peters - 05 Nov 2015 Hi all, I'm looking for some of the M8 x 32 x 3.0 washers that form part of the fuel tank cover plate assembly. It's the large washer circled in the photo below: Perhaps you've swapped the ones on your car for stainless steel versions and you've got the old ones sat in a box somewhere looking for a good home. If so, please drop me a line. Cheers, Phil Re: Wanted - Original fuel tank cover plate washers - Rissy - 05 Nov 2015 These look pretty close. You may have to double up if they are on the thin side...but since they are so cheap... http://www.diy.com/departments/avf-m8-s ... 384_BQ.prd http://www.nutsboltsandthings.co.uk/pen ... -steel-bzp http://www.jandsfasteners.co.uk/PBSCPro ... tedPdtIDs= Re: Wanted - Original fuel tank cover plate washers - Chris P - 05 Nov 2015 You'r not being a trifle 'anal' with your car are you Phil? Will I see you at the NEC? Re: Wanted - Original fuel tank cover plate washers - Phil Peters - 06 Nov 2015 Chris P Wrote:You'r not being a trifle 'anal' with your car are you Phil?Considering that I spent 4 years initially tracking down the car's owner, 3 years of negotiations with said owner and then waited a further 2 years to actually own the car in the first place (total time spent: almost a decade), spending a bit of time finding a few correct parts is no big deal to me in the grand scheme of things. Nevertheless, correct washers have now been sourced. Chris P Wrote:Will I see you at the NEC?Yes, I'll be at the NEC on Sunday. Look forward to catching up with you then. Re: Wanted - Original fuel tank cover plate washers - Chris P - 06 Nov 2015 That's great then Phil, look forward to catching up again. I'm just amazed that you can spend so much time on a car that was basically almost immaculate and so low mileage when you got it, fresh out of the Museum. Do you plan to drive it when it is finished? It remind me so much of that concourse Brooklands Capri that I had. I just couldn't bring myself to take it down the road and get it dusty…let alone dirty or wet! in my opinion they should be tidy, well running and driven regularly , thats certainly what I'm planning with Pilot 20 now I finally have my hands on it…….been working on it for days now…looking forward to the NEC. Sometimes dreams do come true.. ..eh Phil?? Re: Wanted - Original fuel tank cover plate washers - Rissy - 06 Nov 2015 Phil Peters Wrote:Nevertheless, correct washers have now been sourced. Care to share? (Since I did spend time looking the best I could at work myself to try and help ) Re: Wanted - Original fuel tank cover plate washers - Guinney1971 - 10 Nov 2015 seeya Sunday Phil, be good to catch up again RE: Wanted - Original fuel tank cover plate washers - Phil Peters - 04 Dec 2015 (06 Nov 2015, 18:49)Rissy Wrote: Care to share?
