any DMC owners near Cardiff - advice wanted - SpudMurphy - 03 Jul 2015 I have the excellent book by James Espey on buying a used D. I've summarized all the salient points and am in the process of creating a spreadsheet that will help me when I look over potential purchases (in the UK/USA) Is there anybody near to me with a D that I could touch base with and look over their car so I can "acclimatize" myself to looking over a D? Cheers Re: any DMC owners near Cardiff - advice wanted - Chris Williams - 04 Jul 2015 I would suggest giving Ben Matthews a contact he's probably the closest to you. Chris Re: any DMC owners near Cardiff - advice wanted - TheOriginalMrP - 04 Jul 2015 Thanks for that Chris. I have Pm'ed you SpudMurphy. Re: any DMC owners near Cardiff - advice wanted - SpudMurphy - 04 Jul 2015 Cheers guys. Thanks for hooking me up. Kevin RE: any DMC owners near Cardiff - advice wanted - TheOriginalMrP - 06 Sep 2016 Kevin came down yesterday to view the car and take him for a spin. He is now very keen to get a D in the not too distant future! He may add images to a facebook page, I have given him permission to do so. I really need to visit this page more often! i tend to post a lot on facebook. I have owned vin 11789 since January - it was the last one of a batch of 50 that were exported to the UAE - mine went to Dubai and was brought back into the UK. It was originally sprayed red but a previous owner stripped it - alas it has never been driven for many years! The good things about it? - Low mileage, chassis in great shape, didn't have any fuel tank in it (a new one came with the car), no water left in the car - I now have new rad, fans, water pipe work, water pump to go in - then I aim to fire the beast up. It's slow going as I don't retire for another year. oh there's also "the bad" but it'll get there. I wish that a Delorean expert lived close by! still - I managed to install the passenger door torsion bar using the "one man installation process" requiring no jigs! Hope to "chat" with you guys soon. Kevin RE: any DMC owners near Cardiff - advice wanted - Chris P - 31 Jul 2017 Face book.....Ive heard of that.. ![]() Let me know if you want the bonnet. Chris RE: any DMC owners near Cardiff - advice wanted - SpudMurphy - 01 Aug 2017 Cheers Chris - I replied on the "other" thread. Oh yes there is quite a lot of sand in there! I would thoroughly recommend the "one man method" - but still protect the rear screen - I'm glad that I did protect it! |
