Intercooler locations on a delorean... - dknight - 09 Jul 2012

so just thinking out loud really, i wondered where people have located intercoolers on their deloreans?

im weighing up a few options and wanted to see what others have done/seen, i know space is tight and the obvious rear engine issues

any pics/help would be great

thanks

Dan

IMO a chargecooler is the only way to go.

yeah that is what i currently plan on running but im just curious how others have worked with an intercooler?

ive seen a few pictures of intercoolers horizontally fitted under the engine cover, but does it really get that much flow of air there?

cheers

No they don't - you need a ready supply of cold air flow to put through the intercooler and there just isn't any.

With the chargecooler the water creates a massive "buffer" to heat energy and can be dissipated gradually by a much smaller radiator placed out of sight. I put it bottom right inder the alternator.
