DeLorean Hire - For Prom - Late June in Bury St Edmunds - flapshot - 29 May 2012 Hi All! I would love to have my son arrive at his prom in a DeLorean. The prom is in bury st edmunds, suffolk. A self drive would be brilliant if possible? We would also like to use dry ice as he exits, so would that be OK? (We would supply this). Could you please let me know? The date is late June, I can confirm this though. Many, many thanks in advance! Re: DeLorean Hire - For Prom - Late June in Bury St Edmunds - Guinney1971 - 29 May 2012 hiya, there is a company that do self drive hire, but I think they are based in the Midlands so not sure if thats practical for you. Also, there has been a discussion on here recently about proms, it would appear that whilst we are ok doing weddings, to do a prom, a 'Private Hire' licence would be required from the local council to comply with regulations, and these are quite expensive and require regular testing of the vehicle plus a Private Hire licence plate to be affixed to the car. Obviously it would be up to the individual car owner if they wanted to take the risk of getting a £1000 fine (or worse) and do a prom.... Re: DeLorean Hire - For Prom - Late June in Bury St Edmunds - flapshot - 30 May 2012 Many thanks for the reply. Do you have the company name? I should like to try them. Is there any way round this law regarding proms and birtdays etc? Like pretending its for my partner and I and our anniversary? Thanks again Re: DeLorean Hire - For Prom - Late June in Bury St Edmunds - Rissy - 30 May 2012 flapshot Wrote:Many thanks for the reply. Do you have the company name? I should like to try them. This one advertises to be available for PROMS: http://delorean-hire.co.uk/ The Back to the Future Experience(s): http://www.heroes4hire.biz/delorean_time_machine.htm http://www.delorean-hire.com/ Or alternatively, drive it yourself: http://www.deloreanexperience.co.uk/index/Home.html As for pretending....? Maybe the insurance companies or the local authorities/council could pretend otherwise, if not fully licensed/insured...and something happens, or they are informed by someone... (It's a bit silly. Another case of milking people for whatever they can "get away with" if you ask me) Re: DeLorean Hire - For Prom - Late June in Bury St Edmunds - flapshot - 30 May 2012 Thanks for the links! I'll take a look. |
