Exhaust wrapping-good or bad? - bjbrownie - 29 Apr 2012 I've been looking at exhaust wrapping my DMCs manifolds, mainly to keep heat down in the engine bay, my cars de-catted so would the wrap have any adverse effects? Read a few stories of cast manifolds cracking, and cars bursting into flames due to 'hot spots' forming on cast manifolds (not DeLoreans), any thoughts? 8) Re: Exhaust wrapping-good or bad? - stunned_monkey - 29 Apr 2012 basically pointless. It stops them radiating heat so they get hotter when wrapped. DeLorean engine bay is open and ventilated beautifully by the louvers, there isn't a heat issue. Re: Exhaust wrapping-good or bad? - Chris Williams - 29 Apr 2012 Would have thought it would have been difficult to wrap them as well, not a lot of room around the manifold branches if memory serves correct. Chris Re: Exhaust wrapping-good or bad? - bjbrownie - 30 Apr 2012 More info required on this subject-cheers guys 8) |
