For example, when they test a supercar, maybe the owner doesn't want his car to be driven by anyone else? It's very easy then to put the owner in the white overall and helmet and call him The Stig. However if a car manufacture has a rare car that they dont want a stranger to drive or they want to make sure it's not trashed then they dress up there own test driver as The Stig. You can tell in the driving style. Sometimes it's very aggressive and sometime not and sometimes the lines taken around the track are different.
