Fuse number 1 keeps popping! - dmc4087 - 20 Feb 2011 Fuse 1 (RPM Relay, distributor, vvacuum solenoid, ignition ECU and idle speed ECU) keeps popping every time the ignition moves into the 3rd position, i.e. lights come on the dash. When I disconnect the idle speed ECU, the fuse doesnt pop - I replaced this with the unit from my car = no difference. Any tips? Re: Fuse number 1 keeps popping! - Guinney1971 - 23 Feb 2011 just spoken to Phill, as he's good with electrics, he said it sounds like there's a short somewhere in the wiring, if you've not got a wiring diagram handy it might be worth emailing/PM'ing RichH or Martin G. Hope you get it sorted ok! Re: Fuse number 1 keeps popping! - dmc4087 - 24 Feb 2011 Got it sorted last night, we tracked it down to the black/pink wire coming from the bulkhead to the idle speed valve. Must have shorted inside the loom so we ran a new wire on the outside of the loom to the idle speed valve. Chris Re: Fuse number 1 keeps popping! - dmc4087 - 24 Feb 2011 Nope, not obvious at all - the loom isnt being stretched or crushed anywhere. |
