Re: BTTF - The Game! - Rissy - 21 Jun 2010

...i have my doubts. But i will remain hopefully optimistic, and wait and see.

I was a purchaser (no wait....i'll take that back, and correct)

My dad was a purchaser (for me 8) ) of Back to the Future, the computer game, for the Amiga. I tried, and tried, and tried to like this game. Truly, i did. But it was hopelessy impossible, tedious, and repetitive. I still have it today, in the loft. Mostly untouched, and still brand new looking. What shame. I'm just glad it never put such a bad taste in my mouth as to ever put me off the movies, OR the iconic car. Thank God!

On a side note, i've played about with the fan made Back to the Future version of GTA Vice City. Now THAT'S cool. That's the sort of direction they should make with these movies, for a game. If the new game ends up like playing Sam 'n Max, or Day of the Tentacle (although i really DID like DOTT a LOT) or some other cartoony, movie related game, then i think i'd just cry. The ONLY games, which have been done in this style, and named after a successful movie franchise, which ACTUALLY WORKED, in my opinion, was the Lucas Arts Indiana Jones games. I.e. The Fate of Atlantis (I quote the best one of course)

Holding my abated breath.

Re: BTTF - The Game! - Birksie - 22 Jun 2010

I used to play Back To The Future on my Commodore 64. I still have it too!...along with my Commodore! (sad i know)
Me ands my mate used to play it frantically, just to see the DeLorean appear on screen and hit 88mph.
Looking back, its an appauling game, but i've no doubt that if this game was to be redone, in the right hands, it could be a real winner.
I think first person perspective would be they way to go. Running around Hill Valley and being able to climb in the D! Smile
It would be extremely cool to see a decent game made from this with todays GPU technology.
Lets hope it works out.

I had that for ZX Spectrum! I sold the ZX years ago but I kept that game!
I have BTTF 2 for Spectrum and BTTF 3 for PC on 5.25" floppy discs. Very Sad
Can't bring myself to get rid of them

Thanks, we do what we can. You should check out the GTA San Andreas version we're working on, it's not as feature rich as it's Vice City counterpart yet, but the car effects look a lot better in San Andreas.

I hope the telltale game turns out to be good, but like most people, i'm not holding my breath after looking at their back catalog of games.
