Door post trim buttons - bjbrownie - 26 Apr 2010 While doing some maintenence work on the DMC doors, I noticed the window trim panels were a bit loose. Close inspection showed the 'christmas tree' studs were a bit shot so I pulled them carefully out of the trim and found Halfords do a very similar one in their accessories section HFX 343 (trim panel buttons), price code H at £2.15 for 15. These are about 1/4 longer than the DMC originals, but the head is very similar in manufacture, I had to cut the outside edge off one side too, as the originals. Reglued the outer covering and theyre as good as new. A quick sort out and saves hunting around trim suppliers for identical buttons. 8) Re: Door post trim buttons - Guinney1971 - 28 Apr 2010 good stuff Re: Door post trim buttons - bjbrownie - 01 May 2010 N.B., cut the new trim button to the same length as the original or the trim will not sit flush with the door. 8) |
