any advice on replacing paper shims at base of liners apreciated, reason being pistons being skimmed to lower compression TT

Pig of a job that mate,

Some people remove them with a stanley knife blade and clean up, others soak them in solvent overnight and some people used the liner itselft with valve rubbing compound on them to clean the shims off Shock

Renault and Volvo use paper and the plastic shims. The choice is down to you.

i thought it was dan Cry i do have an engineer friend who owes me a favour he is retired but been in the game since the fifties , il ask him. But looking at the tolarances from the factory fitted ones they arn't that accurate to be honest TT
