I paid £12,550 for the two cars £2,040 shipping US side for 40ft container, approx £450 to bring 1 car from Missouri to New Jersey included in this £750 unloading fees for container UK side £50 duty as car was manufactured in UK originally £2695 VAT Total= £18,085 The seller in the US was really helpful and kept in regular contact with the shipping company to ensure everything went smoothly. The shipping company were great too. They even took photos when I tried my luck in asking just prior to loading the container. All in all my transactions were relatively straight forward and took 2 months to complete. Now the fun starts. If I can be of any help just ask. - Pilot25dmc - 06 May 2008 Let me know when the cars are back in the country mate, I will pop up and have a look around them for you. - mnickels - 07 May 2008 Will do. I got my Customs and Excise forms in so am waiting on my bill then I'll get them brought over. I decided against the workshop in the end and am in the process of clearing my garage. Only problem is there is only room for one and i have yet to find a home for the other. My next door neighbour is getting back to me on the possibility of using his garage short term. Any oter suggestions greatly appreciated - Pilot25dmc - 07 May 2008 Well there is a few owners here with garage space. Ask Paul Jenkins on the DOI forum, his dad has a 4 car garage that he might let you use. My garage is full of Deloreans and Alpines so that's me ruled out but you are more than welcome to store it at my dads place. - BIFF1955 - 07 May 2008 mnickels Wrote:Hello BiffHi thanks for the reply ![]() - tracey steele - 09 May 2008 how about importing this one very cheep http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lac/car/671803611.html http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/car/673176317.html - mnickels - 14 May 2008 Pilot25dmc Wrote:Well there is a few owners here with garage space. I am running out of time a bit so if your dad has space available I would be interested. The cars are in Liverpool. I have to pay the tax before they are released but unfortunately flew to Spain on Friday and was invoiced on Monday meaning there is nobody to send payment until tomorrow week. Nightmare!!! |
