Not Quadding today are you? Lovely weather for it! LOL.

couldnt agree more, If I were to list a car worth a few grand I think Id put down a lot more detail than that,
plus it says contact buyer for "how to pay" bet he wants a instant money order for the deposit.
BTW is "co down" county down in ireland???

Crikes Al, you got your work cut out there matey! Shock Shock

But I'm sure its nothing you cant sort out Big Grin

Good luck with it - look forward to seeing some more pics when you get her and then start work - will you be keeping her black or returning her to stainless?

To fill in some of the story for the people who dont want to click the link....

I first saw this car about 7-8 years ago, it was the first driving Delorean I ever saw and I have to say it looked amazing in black.

About 4 years ago I bumped into the owner just after I had bought my car, he told me that his was with a mechanic and had been for about 2 years!

Just before Eurofest last year I phoned him and asked if the car and he would be going, he said that the car was STILL with the mechanic! Thats 5 years.

So then fast forward to the weekend when I saw his car on Ebay looking exactly as I remembered it all those years ago, good on you I thought, you have managed to get the car back and looking good. How wrong I was!

The car was still with the mechanic, sitting outside and he hadnt even seen it in 6 years!!!!! I went to see it and nearly cried, he has let a fantastic car turn to ruin and it will cost a fortune to put it back the way it was. When I phoned him to tell him what I say he was very taken aback, he expected the car to look exactly the same and be worth a fortune.

I have no idea what is going through these peoples minds.

To answer your question Claire, yes I will keep it painted, it will cost just as much to put her back to stainless as it would getting her repainted and I think she looks good with the black. I just have to work out what car to sell now, its either the Porsche or the Midget that will have to go to make room.

I wonder what sort of person is in a "position" to leave their car with a
mechanic for 6 years, and not even go to see it or check on its progress?

Well good luck with it Alistair, it will be great to see the car restored back
to its former glory. Smile

that car is on u tube must have been a long time ago TT

- Rich Hanlon - 10 Dec 2007

That's some project Al, all the best! Still, nearly everything seems to be there apart from the air filter and the electrical cover thingy in the corner... Not that I'm suggesting it's going to be easy!

Might even drop in and see it - we're in N.I again this weekend...

I'd love to have a crack at the engine though. Wonder what it went to the 'mechanic' for in the first place?

- Pilot25dmc - 10 Dec 2007

Believe it or not it went to mechanic to have its brake lines changed.

Took the owner 6 years to order them.
