Re: New member and owner... - Guinney1971 - 07 Sep 2011 nope, not being sarcastic in the slightest. I am of course assuming that Chris Parnham still has some left, but I know he had quite a few and was doing them at a very attractive price. His details are in the Club mag if you want to discuss further with him. Re: New member and owner... - dknight - 07 Sep 2011 oh excellent! how do i see the club mag? i just signed up today to the owners club Been and looked at the parts that came with the car, a few odds and sods but all looks good Re: New member and owner... - steve852 - 07 Sep 2011 Hey, nice car! Bodywork looks in pretty good shape from the photos and great to hear that the chassis is in good order too. Sure it'll be a stunner when it's finished Also welcome to the club! Load of top people here, and the mag's just had a redesign too, so good time to get involved Re: New member and owner... - Guinney1971 - 08 Sep 2011 Chris's contact details are here too: http://www.deloreans.co.uk/contacts/index.html You should get your membership pack and magazine(s) through within the next couple of weeks, Chris Williams sorts that side of things out at the moment. Thanks for joining up, and we're all looking forward to progress on your car Re: New member and owner... - dknight - 23 Nov 2011 Well ive had the car about 2 months now and thought it was time to finally get the progress thread up and running... Saw it on ebay in the US, price was right and it had no engine which i was ideally looking for as i wanted something with a bit more kick to put in, but did not fancy taking the engine out of a fully working one. Delt with a great company who sorted everything out with transportation of the car, all i had to do was collect it from Southampton, sign some papers, all good Incase anyone is interested it was a guy called Stephen, and company is http://www.ifeonline.com/page/homepage After a very long and painful drive from Southampton to Huddersfield (take note of the towing vehicle lol) and my co pilot having a nap on the way so i go and investigate the delorean, jump in, shut the door, and then spent the next 15minutes dismantling the door card as best i could as neither doors would reopen. "oh i thought you were just having a look around" Dropped her off at work and pushed her into her new home for now... Car all in all is not in bad condition, better than i was expecting. I looked into engine choices, at first i wanted something a bit crazy to go in but hours and hours of discussion and debating i finally decided to go for the Renault Alpine GTA V6 To keep it semi original and not the hardest of engine conversions (im hoping) So that is where i am at now, doing alot of research at the minute as i know nothing about the delorean or the gta! Also need to finish my other project the mk1 golf turbo g40 conversion, but thats another forum I have a shed load of questions and i do hope i do not annoy anyone on here! The car has a few bits missing that i need to locate, top of the list is the fuel tank and the pump and all the gubbins that goes with it. Is this going to be a task? Does anyone have any links or info on a delorean with the same engine conversion? i am sure i have seen a few over the years but search as i might i can not seem to locate any! Are there any noob things i should know early on? Looking forward to the project, my plan worked, as it has kicked me into action to finish the other project to make way for this! Dan Re: New member and owner... - Pikey07 - 05 Aug 2012 Hi guys, I know this is a bit of an older post, but google brought me here after putting Huddersfield in the search area. I live in Kirkburton, moved there from Fenay Bridge. Where abouts is it you live? Great to hear there are a couple of D's around my neck of the woods. Hope the project went/is going well. Re: New member and owner... - dknight - 15 Aug 2012 ha only just seen this, i live in honley but lived in fenay bridge before, car is coming along but a bit slow, hoping for some progress these next few weeks Re: New member and owner... - Guinney1971 - 15 Aug 2012 dknight Wrote:ha only just seen this, i live in honley but lived in fenay bridge before, car is coming along but a bit slow, hoping for some progress these next few weeks Maybe he could come round and give you a hand with it? Get some hands on experience of working on a De perhaps?
