I would definitely advise you go with Mikes suggestion below Claire. Chris will also have good experience with this with his job

My central locking doesn't work either, but (correct me if I'm wrong) the module still draws a LOT of power from the battery. You can get them modified to draw much less, but the easiest way is a battery disconnect. I just take my negative off currently, but will be getting a relocated handle fitted soon behind the seat.
