cheers Al for posting that up - mind you, if Chris Barrie had driven standard cars (the ones
in the film bar Brian's BTTF Car were at Martin's old workshop and didnt *sound* particularly stock),
would he have had the same opinion of the performance?

Still, nice to see summat that doesnt slag the car off for a change!

Re: Chris Barrie, National Geographic Channel, with Delorean - A Van - 26 Jun 2009

He did drive mine around the strip but it didnt make the final edit..., but the footage of a car driving around the airstrip..mind you I suppose you can see my rear plate anyway!, and round the cones was me...but that footage very nearly didnt get shot..it was only supposed to be just having an end of shoot laugh,..but they set up the cameras again and waved me on.

Also there was much more filmed..Brians car being chased by the VW and Chris B in full Doc B kit driving and stuff...also the producers made a grave error in not filming Pilot 20, they had Pj Gradys details too.

Re: Chris Barrie, National Geographic Channel, with Delorean - Guinney1971 - 26 Jun 2009

yeah, you thought they would have used PJ Grady, being the only DeLorean vendor and
specialist workshop in the UK

Your car looked good tho Al!

Re: Chris Barrie, National Geographic Channel, with Delorean - A Van - 26 Jun 2009

I thought it looked good as well, luckily it was clean!...at least it was fun as well, but to have P20 in the film would have been something special.

Al

All the "interior" shots were at our new workshop, Modern Classics, near Horsemonden, Kent, as was the 3-car lineup outside. The test drive was in my old #1458 owned by Jay Flanagan. The others there that day were #4426 (Neil Harkett), #17152 (Rob Williams) and #1484 (Gary Hartley)

Several comments across all the forums this has been posted on reference the cleanliness of #1484. The crew specifically asked that we not clean it, they wanted it to "look" 28 years old, and that it was in the process of restoration. #4426 was barely feet away with its show engine, but they declined the chance to shoot it.

The review was pretty good, and I only agreed to help because of Chris Barrie's involvement, given he's a genuine petrolhead with an appreciation for classics. He spent some time afterwards chatting to us all and "surprised" was his main comment about how well the car drove. Yes, he did bang his head on the door, although I missed it!

And here's the "final cut" version. It seems the first version that aired missed out a lot of the voice-overs for some reason. Shock

Strange that. When the photographers for the Neon Neon album wanted a wheel, they insisted curb damaged version, rather than the mint one Dave H offered them. Perhaps it's looks more 'authentic' if it's a bit worn.

Hmmm I think I'll use that as an excuse for not cleaning it at the next show! Mr Green
