- johnomac - 07 Apr 2007 which side is cracked? - dmcscott2002 - 07 Apr 2007 Its got several cracks. Main one's just above the glove box. Smaller ones are either side near the speaker holes. The effort it took to get out, I wouldnt be suprised if the cracks happend whilst it was being put in! Interesting note: It has a sticker on the bottom saying QAC 9-7-81. - dmcscott2002 - 09 Apr 2007 ahhhh! theres a crack appeared in the paint on my new dash! sigh, what next.... - dmcscott2002 - 20 May 2007 Photos - sorry took so long to get online! Flopsy is only 185 cars after yours, and her dash/centre console/binnacle is still cack nearly 5 years after I bought the car :? You never know, you may just have inspired me to do something about it! - Rich H - 21 May 2007 Quote:ahhhh! theres a crack appeared in the paint on my new dash! I removed the dash from 1274 and gave it to a professional to be repaired. For 60 quid they did an excellent job - looked fantastic. About one month later and all the cracks reappeared. I have yet to find a dash repair that has lasted more then a few months - Guinney1971 - 21 May 2007 RichH Wrote:I have yet to find a dash repair that has lasted more then a few months... and I've yet to see a good second hand/NOS black dash and binnacle for sale that I wont have to flog one of my kidney's to purchase - bozzzydmc - 21 May 2007 Hopefully DMCH dash pads will get sorted one day soon, im sure there will be a queue for them . dash - zippy - 24 Nov 2007 Scot i am taking my dash out next couple of days who fixed yours thanks. Took a while to fit but looks a million dollars which is coincidentally what he charged me. Regards D - Chris Williams - 01 Dec 2007 Are these the new DMCH ones? are ones that Ed has had done? Chris Delorean One Dash - Darren C - 01 Dec 2007 Hi Chris, As far as I'm aware they are dash's that Ed has had done. He's very cagey about discussing them? He sells "rebuilt" deloreans for $72K. The Dash's are stock that he's got put by for the $72K cars. The one I bought is a very well made dash identical to the original. However I would say that the rubber is quite soft. Don't know if that's just because my old one was rock hard and brittle. As when I riveted the Chassis number onto the new dash it did compress quite easy at the ends of the chassis plate? Hope this helps. Regards Darren |
