  Sandwich Plate & Sump Wanted
Posted by: Chris Williams - 20 Apr 2007, 09:02 - Forum: DeLorean Cars or Parts For Sale or Wanted - Replies (31)

Hi, I have 'finally' sourced the required parts to build a higher spec engine that I have been wanting to do for some time. But still require a DeLorean sandwich plate and sump to assemble it all rather than waiting until I pull the old engine out. So a couple of questions 1; does any one have either of these they are willing to sell or loan until I can return the ones that are attached to my old engine. (still in use in the car) 2; Do you need to use the delorean oil pick up and pipe and the internal baffle plate? If yes any one have these also?
Thanks in advance, If its easier please PM me.
Cheers, Chris

couple phone pics of THE track
Posted by: dogtemple - 19 Apr 2007, 14:10 - Forum: General Discussions on the DOC / Car / Company / JZD - Replies (1)

just found these on another car site, a dude was working in the factory or somewhere near and managed to get on the delorean test track and got some phone pics, not very big but you get the idea!

these are his pics and little write up

off camber turn coming into banked turn
[Image: 4.jpg]

big long banked turn
[Image: 1.jpg]

what could be described as the straight, it's split in two, on the left of the pic you can see a cobbled section, overgrown now, further down theres lumps and dips. the right of the pic is just smooth tarmac
[Image: 3.jpg]

theres two tight turns near the hole in the fence too, one tight, one less tight. They are in bad nick, potholed etc but the rest of the track is near perfect still, just a little overgrown. Short tight track, only took a minute or two to walk round, would be great fun to drive

  ACTUAL Delorean Transformer
Posted by: richardv - 19 Apr 2007, 09:12 - Forum: Off topic talk, general chat etc - Replies (6)

Further to the rather cool mock up in Issue 36 of DOC News, there is a guy in the US who actually MADE a Delorean transformer using one of the Lambourghini's.

He calls it Steelskin - very apt.

It's fun to read the pages of how he made it and why, and he even made up all the packaging for it!

Check it out at: http://www.johnspangler.com/steelskin/index.html

He regularly takes it around the Transformers conventions to show it off, and Im sure its also won some awards at some point.

Really interesting read, and the end product is brilliant - its a shame Hasbro never made any of the real thing!

Any chance that this could be added to the next issue of DOC News as a sort of continuance of the Transformers DMC story?

  other delorean models???
Posted by: dogtemple - 16 Apr 2007, 22:31 - Forum: General Discussions on the DOC / Car / Company / JZD - Replies (1)

are there any pics or info on other delorean models? such as the planned 4 door deloreans that would have been made had the company not gone under. and the new generation deloreans that were planned afew years back before he died?

ive tried looking round but not found much substantial info on anything other than the pilot cars and the twin turbo... anyone got info to share? someone somewhere must know of something as there seemed to be quite advanced plans on other models from what i gather.

cheers!

Posted by: Pilot25dmc - 15 Apr 2007, 23:20 - Forum: 8 - Frame / Body / Interior - Replies (2)

Hi all

Going to take the close-out plate that holds the fuel tank off the car tomorrow to get all the rust off it and paint it.

I have only about 5 bolts holding it on and was wondering if I take it off will the fuel tank fall on my head??? Big Grin

I have about half a tank of fuel left.

  Power Window Regulators.
Posted by: Barson - 15 Apr 2007, 14:11 - Forum: 3 - Electrical - Replies (26)

ey up.

While I'm currently awaiting parts to get my engine sorted, I've briefly turned my attention to other areas of the car that need to be looked at.

Power Window Regulators:

The driver's side motor runs (back and forth - so I know there's current on both circuits), but it's not moving the arm. I think the arm (slidey thing) is bust.

The passenger's side motor doesn't run at all. I've tested the wires from the switch to the two motor connectors and I'm getting continuity. I tested each of the two connectors against ground, but found no continuity, so I think the motor's bust.

There have been several improvements made to the Delorean window regulators over the years and many of the main vendors stock 'improved' versions of them.

My question to you guys is:

Are all of these new and improved window regulators on sale today the same thing? And which vendor should I go with?

Hervey's is the least expensive (that i can find) if you exclude delivery and potential import duty.

thanks for your help once again Smile Smile

Barzo.
